Movie Monday

So in the category of "What the f*** are studios thinking remaking this?!", I saw the trailer for Pink Panther 2 starring Steve Martin. God these movies look bad. Like insultingly bad. Peter Sellers must be rolling in his grave. I grew up watching the original Pink Panther films. They were hilarious, but they weren't really for kids. The new ones are so tame the Jonas Brothers could watch them.

The originals. I highly recommend you go out and rent some of these. My personal fave is "Return".

But before I go all high and mighty on the sanctity of film, I also saw a trailer for "The Proposal", a new rom-com starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, either of whom I'd marry in 0.2 seconds just for the chance to stare at them for 72 hours straight. Does it look cheesy? Yes. Does it look formulaic, sentimental and cliche? Yes. Am I probably going to shell out ten bucks to see it? Absolutely. I'm only human for chrissake.
